Video Posts are posts that have a playable video within EveryoneSocial. Videos can be published to EveryoneSocial when they meet our internal video requirements. Once you click Post, you will receive two notifications during the creation process.
Notification 1: “Your post has been created successfully.” This means the post was created, but it's not quite visible to others. This is the first step. Depending on the size of the video file and your internet connection, it may take a few seconds or a few minutes to create the post.
Notification 2: “Your video has finished processing.” Your post is now visible to others! This process usually takes 3-15 minutes, depending on the video size. Larger files may take notably longer to process.
Video Posts can be shared on other social networks. First, create a post with the Image or Video post type, and then you can share it with your networks.
Native Video Sharing
You may hear us talk about native videos. Simply put, this means shared Video Posts respond as if uploaded directly to social networks. All of the network’s regular video controls are available, which makes your audience’s experience seamless.
When a network doesn’t treat the video as a native video, the network typically turns videos into a static, clickable image that takes viewers to a Public Post Page. This depends entirely on social networks and how they treat EveryoneSocial’s video content.
Currently, we support native videos on LinkedIn and are working on native videos with Twitter’s platform.
What are the limitations found when sharing videos natively?
We have found the following limitations when playing videos natively:
- Emojis are being translated to an ⍰ icon when posting to LinkedIn from EveryoneSocial.
- Special characters (such as $, (), and %) are cutting off the share copy.
- Views and clicks are not able to be tracked.
- Shared videos have a "like" and "comment" engagement option. No "share" option is available.
Can I view analytics for Native Video sharing?
Great question! We are currently working on video analytics and anticipate this to be available with the next update. At this time, analytics report if someone engaged with the post but can not see if a video was clicked or viewed. Please stay tuned and follow this article to be notified when this is updated, and view counts are available.
Why can’t we upload larger videos?
Some platforms allow videos with a large file size to be uploaded directly to the platform. For example, LinkedIn allows 5GB videos to be uploaded. But secondary platforms, like EveryoneSocial, are limited to 200MB. We are looking for ways to increase the video size and will update this article as soon as that’s available.
Can I loop videos on LinkedIn?
Great question! LinkedIn hasn’t officially announced the ability to loop videos, but it has been discovered you can loop short videos with LinkedIn Video Ads., between 3 and 15 seconds. Here’s a blog article with more information.
