Application Programming Interface

(API)

Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) allow one program to interact with another, permitting two previously unrelated apps to share information behind the scenes. APIs serve as a connector—interface—to allow the apps to request and receive data.
Authentication

Authentication is the process of verifying a user’s identity when attempting to access an application. It involves confirming the user is who they claim to be using a confirmation process, such as verifying a username and password match the user’s account.

Authentication is critical to a program’s security because it verifies access to approved users. Without it, anyone could gain access, which may provide access to critical or sensitive information that should not be shared outside of the approved user list.

There are various methods of authentication. At EveryoneSocial we use authentication to verify users' access to a Workspace, connected social accounts, and the EveryoneSocial API.

While posts can exist on other platforms, EveryoneSocial uses the term "post" when the content was originally created on the platform discussed.

A Post Type refers to the content card’s format or style on social media platforms. There are many different types of social media posts.

  • Onboarded and have access to EveryoneSocial.
  • Have authenticated a social token to connect a social network on a public-sharing page.
RSS Feed Really Simple Syndication feeds, aka RSS feeds, are designed to pull website content, such as blogs and podcasts, and display the content elsewhere in chronological order, with the newest listed first. RSS feeds are text files usually hosted by the site you want to pull the content from. RSS feeds are accessed via a URL that an RSS reader uses to read the RSS feed and display its content for you.

Scheduling content helps improve content organization and consistency, enabling creators to be more strategic with content. This improves program results and builds a more effective social media presence.
Segments

Segments is a feature that allows admins to group team members together based on set criteria.

The goal of segmentation is to divide a large audience into smaller, more manageable groups, each with its own unique needs, preferences, and behaviors. By doing so, companies can tailor their communication and marketing efforts to each segment, making them more relevant, personal, and effective. Segments are also used for gamification and leaderboards are created based off of the created segments.

Segments can include locations, departments, and Groups followed. Segments can also be an uploaded CSV file.

Share Version

Share Versions are different options of share copy and images that are suggested by Contributors, Admin, and Moderators when someone goes to share a post to a network.

URL Tracking Tool

The URL Tracking Tool is a feature that adds identifiers, known as parameters, to the end of a URL to gather data around a shared link with the goal of tracking performance around the link itself. These parameters can provide information about the traffic source, the medium, the campaign name, and other assigned details to analyze the effectiveness of marketing efforts.

The URL Tracking Tool allows marketers to track the performance of their campaigns across different channels, compare the effectiveness of different campaigns, and optimize their marketing efforts based on the data collected.

Without URL tracking, you’ll merely see general details around a share, such as traffic from “Direct Link” or “Social” referrals.

User Generated Content

(UGC)

User Generated Content (UGC) is any type of content—such as text, videos, and images—created by an individual user of a service or platform, rather than by the service or platform itself.

UGC is often seen as more authentic and trustworthy than content created by brands or companies because it’s created by real people with their unique experiences and perspectives.

UGC is a powerful marketing tool because it can help create a deeper connection with audiences, build brand awareness, and increase customer loyalty. Consider influencer promotions and how brands ask influencers to promote services and products. While influencers are paid to do this, their audience has an established rapport with them and products they promote are viewed as vetted by those influencers. Similarly, every person has a network that has a level of established trust, and UGC shared by that person will automatically have that level of trust attached to the shared content.

User Management

Admins are able to update user details*, suspend users, remove users, and invite users within the Admin> User management.

*Admins can edit a user's department, location, and role.

User Role

User roles define a set of permissions and actions assigned to user accounts. User roles determine the actions a user can perform, which data can be accessed, and which features can be used.

User accounts can be assigned a Group role, which may assign a different set of posting permissions within a Group, but their basic permission levels are set by choosing one of three role options: Admin, Contributor, and Users.

User roles and Group roles are based on the most-privileged role, so users will always default to the highest level of privilege in the Workspace (user role) or Group (Group role) based on which role and feature they are trying to access.

UTM Parameters

A UTM parameter (or UTM code) is a set of tags that can be added to a URL in order to track and analyze link traffic.

UTM parameters are typically added to the end of a URL and consist of tracking keys and value pairs. A UTM parameter can have a single pair or multiple pairs, which are separated by ampersands (&). These parameters help to identify the source, medium, and campaign that led a user to click on a URL, as well as other details such as the specific ad or keyword that was clicked on.

UTM Parameters are used in EveryoneSocial’s URL Tracking Tool.

Workspace

A Workspace refers to a space in EveryoneSocial that contains everything needed to run an employee advocacy program, using all of the features and tools accessible under a given plan and the user’s assigned role.

What’s the difference between an account and a Workspace? An account is assigned to a user and is used to log in to EveryoneSocial, while a Workspace is what the user belongs to and accesses after logging in.

Workspace Settings

Workspace settings are customizable features that allow Admins to tailor EveryoneSocial to suit their teams' needs. Workspace settings are changed by Admin.
