Integration for Slack
Integrating Slack with EveryoneSocial can help increase your program's effectiveness and participation rate. Whether you're looking to get more views on an internal post or have your team share a post to their networks, the integration for Slack allows you to increase visibility on your content. In this article, we'll walk you through how to set up the integration for Slack and how the integration works.

Enable Slack
🔹 A Slack Owner/Admin must first enable the integration for Slack and authenticate their profile in EveryoneSocial to "Consent on behalf of the organization."
- Go to Admin > Settings.
- Click Edit Settings.
- Toggle on Slack Integration.
- Click Save.
Last, follow the steps below to Connect Slack to your profile. During step 4, check the box "Consent on behalf of your organization" to complete the process and allow all users to connect to Slack.
Once consent is given, anyone can connect to Slack and post content.
Connect Slack
Each user must connect to Slack in order to start sharing posts from EveryoneSocial to Slack.
- Click the profile menu.
- Select Account Settings.
- Click Connect to Slack.
- Click Allow to authenticate your account.
Send posts to Slack
Anyone who connected to Slack can share posts from EveryoneSocial to Slack.
- Publish a post.
- Toggle on Share to Slack during the publication process.
- Select the public Slack channels to share content to.
- Click Post.
How Slack posts are published
Posts are shared to Slack as soon as they are published in EveryoneSocial. Content is posted near immediately if it does not require approval. Content requiring approval is posted as soon as it's approved by an Admin or Group Moderator.
🔹Post approval must take place in the desktop app.
Interact with Slack posts
The post will display the option to Share or View the content, which redirects viewers to a Public Post Page to take further action.
Share the post
Share goes to the post's page, where the post can be shared to a person’s social networks. The post needs to be shareable for this option to present.
If share is clicked, and the reader has the EveryoneSocial mobile application downloaded, then the post will open in the mobile application. If it has not been downloaded, then the post will open in the reader's default browser. If it has not been downloaded, then the post will open in the reader's default browser, and the reader will be brought to the Public Post Page. A person can immediately share the post to selected social networks without logging in to EveryoneSocial.
Users logged in to EveryoneSocial can share the content with all the sharing options, such as scheduling the share for later.
View the post
View goes to the post in EveryoneSocial, where they can like or share the post. If they are not registered users in the Workspace, then the View option functions as a link to a Public Post Page.
Engage
Link posts that have a social network's link have an Engage option. Clicking Engage will take viewers directly to the social network's post to like, comment, and engage with it.
🔸 The value engage_actions tracks how many users click Engage when they are in EveryoneSocial. This does not get tracked when users click Engage on a post shared to Slack.
Delete a Post from a Slack Channel
Slack Admin and the original sharer can delete posts shared to Slack.
- Click the three-dots menu.
- Select More message shortcuts...
- Search "delete."
- Select Delete ES Post.
