Review User Analytics

The Users Report seeks to answer the question, “How active are your users?” The report provides data on actions inside EveryoneSocial as well as actions taken on posts shared to social networks. This article outlines how to pull the two types of Users Reports and defines their metrics.

🔹 This is available on the Teams, Enterprise, and Unlimited plans.

🔸 This feature is accessible to Admin.

Access User Analytics

Access User Analytics via the Admin console.

  1. Go to Admin.
  2. Select Analytics > Users.

The Users Analytics dashboard displays an overview of users' actions. The report will only show data if the user was active during the selected timeframe. For example, a report that pulls data for the last 7 days will only show users' data if they were active in the last week.

The dashboard displays the following.

  • Registered Users: This chart displays active and inactive users within the selected date range.
  • Activity by Day: This graph displays active and inactive users for each day of the selected date range.
  • Name: Team member’s name.
  • TypeRole assigned to the team member.
  • Created On: Date the team member joined the Workspace.
  • Onboarded: "True" if the user has joined the Workspace and connected to social networks.
  • Last Active: Date the team member was last active.
  • Reach: Total connections for a person’s connected social networks
  • Posts: Number of times the person published a post.
  • Shares: Number of times the person shared a post.
  • Clicks: Number of clicks received from that member's shares.

Report filters

Dashboard and downloadable reports will only display data that meet the selected filters and time frame.

Date, Department, and Location filters are available. Filters work on an AND  operator basis. For example, the image below shows data within the last 30 days AND  users in the "Engineering" Department AND  located in "Chicago.”

Remove filters by clicking the X next to a department or location or clicking Clear Filters.

Data availability

Here are the two main items to consider when expecting data to be available once an action is taken.

  • Actions taken within EveryoneSocial, such as connecting a social network, are seen almost immediately in reporting.
  • Actions taken outside of EveryoneSocial, such as clicks and likes, are seen within 24 hours. This is because analytics runs on an Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) to format and arrange data for reporting—and it’s a scheduled process. As soon as the next day rolls around, you should see data regarding external actions.

Each report has a focus and that focus determines what data is pulled. Consider the examples below.

  • Users report pulls data for users during the selected timeframe. If the report was pulled for the last 7 days, it will only display users that were invited before the last 24 hours.
  • Shares report pulls data for shares made from EveryoneSocial during the selected timeframe. If the report was pulled for the last 7 days, then it displays data for shares made in the last 7 days.

Using the examples, if a new user shared content the day they joined and the report was pulled that day, then the share and the user would only show up in reports the following day.

Download a report

Each Analytics section has the option to download a CSV report. Click the icon to make a request, and a notification will present when the file is ready for download. Click the notification to download the report as a CSV file. The option to download the report will expire after 25 hours.

Metrics defined

You can download two user reports: Users Internal Engagement and Users External Activity.
